Sports Matter

Sports.

Take a second and think about how your life would be different without sports. Friday night would be just the start of the weekend, instead of being spent sitting on cold metal bleachers in a 2,000 seat stadium to watch your high school chemistry partner roll around on a muddy, poorly kept football field. No more escaping the wife to spend five hours hitting a golf ball around while blaming your bad play on three too many "ice cold" beers. That intramural basketball championship that you won in college that you still talk about late into your 40's?

Didn't happen.

Sports are a big part of everyday life, and being a fan can create feelings and emotions that you can experience nowhere else. My goal is to be able to share these feelings through the creation of this blog.

Throughout this blog, I'm going to be talking about a wide range of sports and sports topics, from the perspective of a fan. A fan that sometimes gets too involved. But hey, everyone has broken a TV after a tough loss. Right?

Make sure to check out next week when I will be talking about sports writing, what it means to the everyday fan, and why it matters.

The "RED SCARE" student section for University of Dayton men's basketball. Yes, that is me in the middle of the second row. Yes, I am painted red.
